How common is generalised anxiety?

However, it may appear for the first time in middle age, which is a time when some people may start to face new challenges as they realise that they are getting older.

Anxiety is more likely to be seen in women rather than men. It is quite common in the normal population; one in 20 people may suffer with anxiety. It is advisable to seek help for anxiety either through your Doctor or through a counsellor or psychotherapist or any other means rather than leaving it and suffering in silence.
